Book Launch

My second book launch took place 28 Floors up at Abian Apartments overlooking the Brisbane Botanical Gardens on Friday 17 July 2026.

Over 30 close friends and supporters attended a cheese tasting followed by a reading from the book by the author.

I chose to highlight Pastor Maxwell Sinner in my reading, a complex character and central to events in the book.

The backdrop for my talk was video footage of sunny Noosa Queensland, where the wellness retreat took place.

There was a disco theme to the event and the apartment was designed to resemble Easy Pickings where much of the "action" in the book takes place.

Two fellow authors attended, one of whom commented about some of the steamier scenes.

My response was that I just wrote what I thought the characters would do in particular situations and did not self-censor.

There were a number of lawyers and ex-lawyers present and the characteristics and possible identities of some of the lawyers in Eagles Doves and Vultures were discussed. I assured everyone that none of them were based on any one individual. This led to some war stories being told about Judges in Brisbane in the eighties.

At that point, our host Maria moved us on and offered a light supper.
